Alicia Haines, of Lancaster and Kruz Schrann, of York, were wed in a rustic, vintage backyard farm wedding.
The pair met during their sophomore year of college while Alicia was visiting friends at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. They didn’t start dating until after a summer beach trip that year when Kruz came to visit a group of Alicia and her friends while they were staying in Ocean City Md. The couple dated for the next month and knew they were serious after Kruz helped Alicia move into her apartment at Indiana University of PA before classes started that fall.
During the couple’s five years of dating, they made Ocean City MD their choice summer vacation spot because that is where the relationship began. Kruz, being a romantic, wanted this to be the spot where he asked Alicia to be his wife too, so he planned a trip in January of 2014. Alicia thought the pair was just taking a beach trip in January to celebrate his birthday, but Kruz had special things planned for her the whole weekend! On Saturday afternoon they took a freezing cold walk on the beach. Kruz was acting a little strange, but she wasn’t expecting him to stop in front of the spot where they had their first kiss so many years ago, get down on one knee, and nervously propose! Obviously she said YES!
